Extra Thick Wool Felt (Carpet Felt)

Extra thick traditional wool felt (100% wool) is used for the very high padding of goldwork, stumpwork and appliqué techniques.

Unlike felt with a synthetic component (or 'real' carpet felt), this felt is strong but with a little stretch, and cuts beautifully into intricate shapes.

The colour is natural unbleached brown and varies slightly between pieces.  It should always be covered in standard 100% wool felt in a colour to match the embroidery.
