The very best quality polyester machine thread in colours matched to the gilt, silver plated and copper threads.

Generally, the lighter/standard version of the colour is best for couching of smooth passing thread, check thread, etc.  The darker variant can be useful for Japanese thread and chipping.

When working on darker fabrics, the darker variant can be good for cutwork as it is less obvious if there is any showing at the end of the chips.

The shades of each colour can also be used to increase the appearance of depth in a couched area with highlight and shadow.

I'm still in the process of switching over to the recycled versions where possible, so in the meantime you may receive either the original or the recycled version (as it would be silly to throw perfectly good thread away!)
