'Little Bird' Jacobean Crewel Work Embroidery Kit

The term ‘crewel work’ means embroidery with crewel wool threads on any fabric. The word ‘Jacobean’ describes the style of the design - influenced by English crewel work designs of the early 17th century. Jacobean crewel work is always stitched on natural-coloured pure linen twill fabric.

Birds are seen frequently in Jacobean embroidery; most are fantastically unrealistic creatures!

This design fits an 8 " (20 cm) ring frame.  This is an ideal kit to get started with embroidery or as a little refresher if you are bit out of practice.

The kit explores many different traditional crewel work stitches.

In the box you get full instructions for each stitch, with tips on how to achieve the best results.

Kit contains:  linen twill fabric, crewel wool, needles, design and full instructions

The kit comes in a presentation box for handy storage.  Fabric is wrapped with acid-free tissue to protect your embroidery project.
